We have an exciting opportunity within our MFL department who are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated German Language Assistant.
About the role:
You will join on a part time (30 hours per week) permanent basis, Term Time (33 weeks) starting in January.
The post-holder will be responsible for giving German speaking lessons to pupils from years 10-13 in pairs, small groups or individually to help them to prepare for the oral part of public examinations. They will also work with small groups of bi-lingual students or native speakers to prepare them for public examinations. The post-holder will contribute to the programme of extra-curricular activities offered by the German department.

Key responsibilities (Including but not limited to; see job description for full requirements):
- Conduct oral lessons in German for pupils in years 10 to 13, in pairs, small groups or individually to help them prepare for the oral examinations.
- Work with small groups of bilingual or native-speaker students to help them prepare for public examinations off-timetable.
- Support the teaching of German at all levels by helping pupils to develop their oral fluency.
- Organise a timetable in September so that assigned pupils are given speaking lessons outside of classes.
Person Specification
The successful incumbent must have
- Native-speaker-level fluency in spoken German
- 3 A Levels or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of German grammar
